Canadian Production Wheel
Canadian Production Wheel. Purchased at a pop up flea market a mere 10 minutes from home. Poor girl was sitting in a piled up heap in the dirt, lonely on the side of the road. After looking her over to assess the damages and where she'd need restoration, i haggled with the man. He gave her to me for the very fair price of $60. When i found her i didn't know then she was a highly sought after C.P.W. Then, i was excited about her many unique qualities. Namely, the cast iron parts! An element i'd not yet seen on an antique or modern wheel. She had to come home with me. She is the largest wheel in my collection, a race horse of a wheel! On the whole she's is in solid condition. Her wood is painfully dry, she needs a replacement piece or two but nothing overly dramatic. A good sanding of the the wood, some restoration of the iron pieces, followed by many layers of oil and she'll be a shiny gem again, ready to carry on her life. Soon you will be able to follow along with her restoration story!
